MGM Grand announces Studio 54 replacement

The MGM Grand will replace the shuttered Studio 54 with a new restaurant and nightclub jointly managed by nightclub group Angel Management and a London-based restaurant operator.

Hakkasan Las Vegas is expected to open in December as part of the overall redevlopment of the MGM Grand. The Cantonese-themed restaurant will include a nightclub element that will expand the size of the former Studio 54 space, creating indoor and outdoor views of the Strip.

The restaurant, operated by Hakkasan Ltd. of London. The company has restaurants in Miami, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Mumbai and a New York location opening in March.

Angel Management operates the Wet Republic Ultra Pool at the MGM Grand.
