MGM Resorts will offer free applications to more phones

MGM Resorts International is expanding the reach of its free applications by offering them to additional smart phones. The company recently released 12 free applications for Google's Android and will launch them in March for Research in Motion's BlackBerry.

The applications had been only available on iTunes for download on a variety of Apple products. MGM Resorts has seen more than 200,000 of its applications downloaded at iTunes.

"We've created a dynamic new way to engage our guests with convenient information and a reservation system," said Scott Voeller, vice president of brand strategy and advertising for MGM Resorts.

Voeller said overwhelming demand for the company's iTunes app led them to expand.
