Tony Rodio named CEO of Tropicana Entertainment

Tony Rodio, president of the Tropicana Resort in Atlantic City, has been named CEO of the casino's parent company, Las Vegas-based Tropicana Entertainment Inc.
Rodio, 53, will oversee a troubled company with a eight casino-resorts in five U.S. states and Aruba, including its Nevada properties, the Tropicana and River Palms in Laughlin and the Montbleu Resort & Casino in Lake Tahoe.
Tropicana Entertainment, the gaming company controlled by investor Carl Icahn, on May 1 reported a first-quarter loss of $4.8 million on net revenues of $155.2 million.
Rodio will maintain his role as president and CEO of Tropicana Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Rodio replaces Daniel Ninivaggi, who had served as interim CEO since January 2011. Ninivaggi will remain as a director with the company, the company said.
