Tropicana Las Vegas parent names new board member

The Tropicana Las Vegas Hotel and Casino Inc. Thursday announced the appointment of Michael Ribero as the fifth member of its board of directors.

"With innovative marketing required for success in Las Vegas, especially in today's environment, I look forward to doing whatever I can to take full advantage of the resort's amazing recent transformation," Ribero said.

Previously, he served as Hilton Hotel Corp.'s executive vice president and chief marketing and strategy officer from 1988 until 1995 in Las Vegas. Most recently, Ribero served as president and chief executive officer of the television advertising company IdeaCast.
