William Hill to operate sports book at Downtown Grand

Fifth Street Gaming, developer and operator of the Downtown Grand, has signed a long-term agreement with William Hill to operate a race and sports book at the downtown Las Vegas casino, the company said Tuesday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal has to be approved by Nevada gaming regulators.

The Downtown Grand is expected to open in September and is located on Third Street between Stewart and Ogden avenues, also known as Downtown3rd.

The sports book will have a William Hill storefront and dedicated entrance on Third Street, with an outdoor look similar to the company’s 2,400 betting shops in the United Kingdom.

“We are pleased to partner with Fifth Street Gaming and be a part of the Downtown 3rd Project,” said Joe Asher, CEO of Las Vegas-based William Hill U.S., in a statement. “Downtown Las Vegas is undergoing an exciting transformation and Downtown Grand and other new businesses nearby will bring many new customers to the area.”

William Hill, which operates 182 sports books and kiosks in Nevada, currently operates four race and sports books in downtown Las Vegas, including locations at the Plaza, The D Las Vegas, Binion’s and the Four Queens.
