MyAccount makes it easier for customers to manage energy costs

NV Energy customers in Southern Nevada can now use MyAccount online services to help manage their energy bills and usage.

ACCOUNT OVERVIEW

Customers can view account information at a glance on the Account Overview page which includes three sections and several quick links within the MyAccount Web site.

The Account Summary section gives customers a convenient central location to view their current bill, including account balance due, past due charges, last payment amount and the date the payment was received and processed. A link allows customers to see their payment history for the last 24 months.

The Payment Options section allows customers to enroll or cancel participation in automatic monthly payments (also known as Electric Check) online.

The Account Management section allows customers to change their profile, e-mail address, MyAccount password and financial information.

AUTOMATIC MONTHLY PAYMENTS

Commercial and residential customers with an active account, and who meet eligibility requirements, can enroll in automatic monthly payments with Electric Check online.

Payments are withdrawn from the customer's checking or savings account on or after the due date shown on the monthly statement. If the customer has a deposit securing their account, the deposit will be waived once enrollment in Electric Check is complete. If the deposit was paid in full or partially paid, refund information will be included on the customer's next billing statement.

Customers will also have the option to cancel their participation in Electric Check in MyAccount as well. Prior to making this decision, customers should take into account pending or submitted payments, a deposit may be assessed based on the customer's credit history and enrollment may only be cancelled twice within a 12-month period.

CARBON FOOTPRINT

Customers can also access the carbon footprint calculator via MyAccount. A carbon footprint is a measure of the impact a person's activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide.

This tool is intended to help NV Energy customers become aware of their current emissions and the contributing factors and encourages them to act.

ENERGY AUDIT

MyAccount offers tools to perform a comprehensive energy audit of customers' home that will allow them to compare their home against similar homes in their area, compare their energy use over time, look at their billing history and discover specific ways to lower their electric bills.
