Pardee Homes wins four awards for development and architecture

Pardee Homes has received four Awards of Merit in the 2009 Gold Nugget Awards, for green and sustainable development and for architectural excellence. The competition draws entries from throughout 14 Western States and internationally and is the nation's oldest and largest program of its kind.

The luxury series of Bella Fiore in Lake Las Vegas is a double Merit Award winner in the 2009 Gold Nugget Awards. Bella Fiore Plans Five and Six earned Merit Awards for Outstanding Single Family Detached Home, less than 2,500 square feet and 2,500 to 3,500 square feet. Bassenian/Lagoni Architects of Newport Beach designed Bella Fiore.

Manzanita Trail in San Diego also took two Merit Awards, one as a California Green Builder community and one as a Sustainable Residential Neighborhood/Detached Home.

Like new Pardee neighborhoods in Southern Nevada, Manzanita Trail features Pardee Homes' LivingSmart program, with EarthSmart, EnergySmart, HealthSmart and WaterSmart standards that help conserve energy, improve indoor air quality, save water and reduce consumption of natural resources.

Introduced in 2001, LivingSmart is now a company-wide standard for upcoming communities and most with new homes under construction now.

"These awards honor one of our company's core objectives -- creating greener, more sustainable homes that also deliver the lifestyle quality our homebuyers seek in home and community," said Pardee Homes President and CEO Mike McGee. "We are truly gratified to be among the winners in this very prestigious and competitive program."

Pardee Homes' Merit Award winners are eligible for the coveted Gold Nugget Grand Awards, to be presented at PCBC, The Premier Building Show, the nation's largest regional conference and trade show for the real estate development field. Highlighting PCBC's 50th anniversary, ceremonies for Merit and Grand Award winners were held this week at Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Pardee Homes has been in business since 1952.
