Programmable light control saves energy, money
Consumers already love light controls because they save energy and money by automatically turning lights on at dusk and off at dawn. Now Westek has something new to add to the equation. Its new "green" SLC6 Programmable Compact Fluorescent Light Control accommodates compact fluorescent bulbs as readily as it does conventional incandescent bulbs. With it, consumers save even more money and energy than they do when using a conventional light control -- or compact fluorescent bulbs alone.
This easy-to-use light control automatically turns lights on at dusk and off at a programmed time: after two hours, five hours, eights hours or at dawn. That means that lights no longer burn all night, and electric bills (and energy usage) drop significantly. These controls are equally ideal during vacations, because homeowners can opt for random off times, thus breaking any pattern that might be discernible to thieves.
"When used with a compact fluorescent bulb, these controls save consumers an average of $49 per fixture per year," said Mike Stack, product marketing manager at AmerTac, Westek's parent company.
The SLC6 is simple to install. Just screw your bulb into the control and the control into the lamp. No wiring or electricians are necessary. A simple press of a button lets the consumer select the duration of time the lamp will stay lit.
In addition to the SLC6, Westek offers a full line of green screw-in, plug-in and wire-in light controls and timers that work with compact fluorescent bulbs. They all save money, conserve energy and deter intruders -- thereby providing homeowners with convenience, safety and peace of mind.
Westek's SLC6 light control retails for $8.99 to $11.99 at home centers, hardware stores and lighting showrooms. For more information, visit www.amertac.com.
