Galaxy Gaming wins license in Arizona

Las Vegas-based Galaxy Gaming has been licensed in Arizona to place non-traditional table games and wagering enhancements in Indian casinos.

Arizona is one of the faster-growing Indian gaming markets, according to the most recent Indian Gaming Industry Report by Casino City. In 2011, the state’s 22 Indian casinos produced $1.76 billion in gaming revenues, a 7 percent increase over 2010. The state had four developments in process at the time, either new casinos or expansion of existing properties.

The approval in Arizona follows a rejection by California regulators last year. However, an attorney who represented Galaxy said in a statement that Arizona regulators reviewed the same information as those in California.

“Clearly, the setback experienced last year is isolated and will likely be corrected as more facts surface,”Galaxy Gaming attorney John Maloney said.

Galaxy Gaming develops, manufactures and distributes proprietary table games, electronic wagering platforms and bonusing systems. The company also licenses its table games to the online gaming industry.

Galaxy Gaming Chief Financial Officer Gary Vacchiarelli said the Arizona license follows approvals from Eastern Seaboard states, the Gulf Coast and South Africa.

“Expansion into Arizona is another bottom-line beneficial result for the company,” he said.
