INTEL: Dynamite explodes onto scene, Bank of Nevada taps new executive

Anna Martini, president of Montreal-based fashion retailer Dynamite, said she hopes the Las Vegas store, which opened May 1 at Fashion Show mall, will be the 30-year-old company’s flagship location.

“We saw a great opportunity here,” Martini said. “And we thought our product would resonate well with this market — both tourists and locals who like to wear on-trend fashion.”

Fashion Show, at 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is Dynamite’s fifth U.S. location, however, it is the first in a major city. Dynamite has stores in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

“Our other four stores were our test stores and they’re doing really well,” marketing director Adele Rubiano said. “There’s a lot of visibility for our client and our brand as we offer outfits for work, cocktails, nights out and weekends. We’re all about the innings in our client’s life and Vegas is all about innings.”

Dynamite clothes are priced at $20 to $50, District Sales Manager Vel Marina Quiles said, and accessories, such as belts, necklaces and scarves, cost $15 to $25.

Bank of Nevada named veteran banker Michael Cunningham executive vice president, regional president.

Cunningham has more than 30 years in finance and spent the previous 15 years as a senior vice president with Nevada State Bank.

Bank of Nevada President John Guedry said Cunningham would help expand the bank’s brand within the local business and professional market.

“As a highly regarded senior- level banker in this market, Mike’s presence will provide our customers with another key lending resource and underscores our commitment to being the ‘go to’ business bank in Southern Nevada,” Guedry said in a statement.

Cunningham started his banking career with First Interstate Bank in 1981 before joining Bank of America in 1993 and working as a vice president and team leader for The Private Bank.

NARS Cosmetics opened its sixth boutique May 25 at the Forum Shops at Ceasars.

Aside from the company’s makeup line, the 1,200 square-foot boutique offers “François’ Favorite Things,” an eclectic mix of objects that have inspired founder and creative director François Nars over the years, including films, books, and photographs, available for purchase and rotated quarterly.

McCarran Medical Clinic and Pharmacy will soon open to locals, airport employees and tourists near the A/B checkpoint in Terminal 1.

The facility will provide services specifically for travelers, including flight clearance, vacation supply prescriptions, travel immunizations and urgent care services. The site will also have a full-service pharmacy with an extensive selection of Transportation Safety Administration-approved toiletries and sundries.

“We’re truly looking forward to servicing the medical and health needs of the Las Vegas community and the tourists who utilize McCarran as a gateway to Las Vegas,” pharmacy owner and co-managing member David Inman said.
