Las Vegas casinos and Los Angeles Kings, take note of the marketing agreement between a casino in Indiana and another National Hockey League team.

The Caesars Entertainment Corp.-owned Horseshoe Casino Indiana in Hammond recently added a blackjack pit where the felt on the 10 tables contain logos from the current Stanley Cup champion, the Chicago Blackhawks.

The casino is a sponsor of the Blackhawks.

Since Hammond is a 35-minute drive from downtown Chicago, the Horseshoe attracts much of its customer base from across the state line. Besides the themed blackjack pit, the Horseshoe’s expanded sponsorship deal with the Hawks includes a plan to make the casino’s lounge an official Blackhawks bar that will host viewing parties throughout the season.

The Kings have a big following in Southern Nevada. The team has played in the annual “Frozen Fury,” a popular exhibition series, over the past 15 years at the MGM Grand Garden.

When the Kings won the Stanley Cup in 2012, several players partied in Las Vegas over several days with the trophy to celebrate.

So come on, Strip casinos. Let’s step up.
