McCarran welcomes first flight from Norwegian Air — PHOTOS

Clark County tourism officials gathered at McCarran International Airport on Tuesday to welcome Norwegian Air's first flight from Copenhagen, Denmark.

In addition to its direct service from Copenhagen, Norwegian also is offering weekly nonstop flights from Stockholm, Sweden, to Las Vegas.

International travelers are known to stay longer and spend more money locally than their domestic counterparts. Based on recent economic data, the LVCVA projects visitors who arrive on Norwegian will directly spend more than $28.7 million in Southern Nevada annually.

Norwegian is also the first airline service to McCarran using the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
