Prudential Americana Group to take Berkshire Hathaway name

One of the region’s largest residential real estate brokerages is taking on one of corporate America’s most famous names.

Prudential Americana Group, Realtors will rebrand its Nevada operation as Berkshire Hathaway Home Services-Nevada Properties. Its Arizona division will become Berkshire Hathaway Home Services-Arizona Properties.

The name changes take effect April 29.

CEO Mark Stark said in a company sales meeting Thursday morning that the rebranding will give the brokerage’s sales agents the benefits of identifying with one of the world’s “most incredible, respected and trusted companies.”

Berkshire Hathaway is headed by well-known investor Warren Buffett. Berkshire Hathaway bought the Prudential Real Estate brand in October 2012.

Prudential Americana Group, Realtors is the fourth-largest Prudential Real Estate franchise in the United States, with nearly 2,000 sales agents and staff in 20 offices across Nevada and Arizona.

Stark also announced Thursday that Prudential Americana Group, Realtors posted a brokerage record of $2.5 billion in sales volume in 2013.
