Tesla looking for employees at Gigafactory in Northern Nevada

Electric carmaker Tesla Motors Inc is recruiting for material handlers, product excellence inspectors, skilled technicians and production associates among other positions, to work in its Gigafactory in Sparks.

Tesla is holding two invitation-only information sessions July 17 in Las Vegas and July 23 in Reno. To get an invitation, job seekers must go to a Nevada JobConnect location Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to be pre-screened.

Tesla broke ground on the factory in June 2014 and is expected to begin cell production in 2017. The gigafactory is slated to reach full capacity by 2020 and produce more lithium ion batteries annually than were produced worldwide in 2013.

The factory is producing storage batteries for homes and other uses.

Correction: A previous version of this story omitted Las Vegas as one of the sites for a Tesla recruitment information session.
