Travelocity ranks Las Vegas high for Fourth of July fireworks

Although tourists know Las Vegas for its sea of neon lights, they apparently also know it for Independence Day fireworks.

Online travel booker Travelocity.com this week grouped Las Vegas with Nashville, Tennessee, and Houston as sites American travelers like for July Fourth pyrotechnics, based on a national survey.

Wakefield Research, using an email invitation and an online survey, polled 1,021 U.S. residents 18 and older June 7 to 13. Sixty-five percent of poll respondents called a fireworks show one of the best parts of any July Fourth getaway.

In a statement, Travelocity said, “While the Las Vegas skyline glitters 365 days a year, the Independence Day weekend sparkles even brighter with six fireworks shows taking place across the city. … Las Vegas also features plenty of rooftop venues to enjoy all of the pyrotechnic displays.”

Earlier this year, Travelocity named Las Vegas as one of its best summer vacation destinations.
