Battery charge recommended against rocker Neil in poking

Rocker Vince Neil's outburst at his ex-girlfriend and others last week might cost him another criminal case in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police are recommending a charge of battery domestic violence to the district attorney's office after the March 24 incident when he is alleged to have poked ex-girlfriend and entertainment reporter Alicia Jacobs in the right shoulder leaving a bruise, a police spokesman said.

Jacobs was with several friends who witnessed the Motley Crue frontman's obscenity laced tirade on Jacobs and the poking. A photo of the bruise was posted on the gossip website TMZ.com.

Prosecutors will next review the case and determine what, if any, charges will be pursued.

Neil has denied ever touching Jacobs, according to TMZ.com.

Neil and Jacobs split in March after a seven-month relationship. Jacobs issued a statement that the break-up was because of "the decisions Vince continues to make."

Neil, 50, has said publicly that he has given up alcohol and drugs but has been seen partying around Las Vegas. He was recently released from the county jail after a 10-day stint and 11 days on house arrest for a June DUI conviction.

His criminal history also includes a previous jail term for vehicular manslaughter in California.

Neil's criminal defense attorney, David Chesnoff, did not immediately return a call requesting comment.
