County jail inmate dies; cause not yet determined

A 26-year-old man found unresponsive in his jail cell died Sunday morning at the Clark County Detention Center, Las Vegas police said Tuesday.

Police said that Rammale Peterson's death was being investigated but that the cause appeared to be medical in nature.

At 1:10 a.m., a corrections officer discovered Peterson unresponsive in his cell. He did not have a cellmate. Peterson was pronounced dead at University Medical Center at 1:45 a.m.

The Clark County coroner's office will determine the cause and manner of Peterson's death.
