Former cop pleads not guilty in murder plot case
Former Las Vegas police officer William Ronald Webb pleaded not guilty Thursday to felony charges in what investigators say was a plot to kill his girlfriend, attorney Nancy Quon.
District Judge Jackie Glass set a June 13 trial for Webb, who is being held on $400,000 bail at the Clark County Detention Center.
Webb 42, and another man, two-time felon Robert Justice, were indicted by a county grand jury last week.
Justice 44, is cooperating with authorities and is expected to strike a deal with prosecutors to testify against Webb. He previously provided police with information suggesting Quon might have been part of the plot to cause her death.
Quon, 50, has told police that she never planned suicide, and she has not been charged in the case.
But police suspect that Webb and Quon plotted her demise because of an FBI investigation into allegations of fraud within homeowners associations around the Las Vegas Valley.
Quon is considered a top target in the investigation.
Both Webb and Justice are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, trafficking in a controlled substance and conspiracy to violate the controlled substances act.
The indictment alleges Webb and Justice unlawfully obtained 51.4 grams of the club drug gamma-hydroxybutyric acid to give to Quon.
