Four people dead after fiery crash northwest of Las Vegas

Four people were killed Sunday night after a wrong-way highway crash northwest of Las Vegas.

A maroon Buick sedan collided with a Toyota van about 10:40 p.m. on U.S. Highway 95 near Lathrop Wells, about 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

The Buick was traveling north in the southbound lane, police said. The vehicles struck head-on and caught on fire.

The male driver of the Buick, the car’s only occupant, died at the scene. Three people in the van, believed by NHP to be two women and a young boy, died at the scene.

The identities of the victims were not immediately released due to extensive fire damage, police said.
