A Las Vegas-area drug dealer responsible for distributing large quantities of methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and marijuana across state lines has been given a nearly 20-year prison sentence .
Bryan Binns, 29, was sentenced to 235 months in prison and five years of supervised release and ordered to forfeit several vehicles, firearms and more than $38,000, Nevada U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden said Tuesday.
Binns, a Mexican citizen who last resided in Henderson, pleaded guilty in November before Senior U.S. District Judge Lloyd George to four counts of conspiracy to possess controlled substances with the intent to distribute.
He has a prior felony conviction for unlawfully entering the United States following deportation.
According to court filings, the Drug Enforcement Administration launched an investigation in February 2010 into allegations Binns was spearheading an operation that used semi-trailers to transport the drugs to people in other states.
More than 5 kilograms of methamphetamine, 2 kilograms of heroin,
1 kilogram of cocaine and 227 kilograms of marijuana were seized in the investigation.
The drugs were taken from co-conspirators during several traffic stops in Nevada, Utah and Arizona between November 2010 and February 2011.
