Las Vegas police express gratitude to community in aftermath of officer deaths

Las Vegas police released a statement on Tuesday to “thank the Las Vegas community for the overwhelming support for the surviving families of officers (Alyn) Beck and (Igor) Soldo and Joseph Wilcox” and to announce continued fundraising efforts for the families.

In support of the fallen officers, Jamms Restaurant, 1029 S. Rainbow Blvd., is donating a portion of all sales from June 18-20 and June 23-25 to the Injured Police Officer Fund.

To date, the organization has raised $248,264.53 for the families of officers Soldo and Beck, according to Minddie Lloyd, speaking for the group.

The two officers and Wilcox were killed June 8 during a shooting rampage in the northeast valley that began at CiCi’s Pizza and ended at the Wal-Mart on Nellis Boulevard near Stewart Avenue. Shooter Jerad Miller died after being shot by police. His wife who participated in the shooting, Amanda Miller, shot and killed herself.

Christian Hope Project will also be holding a fundraiser for the family of Joseph Wilcox at the Genghis Grill, 550 N. Stephanie St., between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Accounts also have been set up at valley banks to assist the families of the victims:
