Las Vegas sex offender convicted of two more sex crimes

A convicted sex offender has been convicted of two more sex crimes, the U.S. attorney for Nevada announced Friday.

Darryl Walizer, 43, of Las Vegas was convicted Thursday of coercion and enticement of a minor and commission of a felony sex offense by an individual required to register as a sex offender.

Walizer solicited sex over the Internet from a person he thought was a 14-year-old girl, then went to McCarran International Airport in March to meet her arriving plane.

U.S. District Judge Philip Pro is scheduled to sentence the defendant May 31. Walizer faces a sentence of 20 years to life in prison.

Authorities said Walizer has a 2005 conviction in Virginia for soliciting a juvenile and a 2004 conviction in Ohio for importuning.
