Man, 35, shot and killed in North Las Vegas

A 35-year-old North Las Vegas man was fatally shot Monday night while standing in front of his home, police said.

Officer Chrissie Coon said the man was outside his home in the 2100 block of Balzar Avenue, near Martin Luther King Boulevard and West Carey Avenue, when he was shot multiple times around 7:30 p.m.

The victim died at the scene, and police had no one in custody more than two hours after the incident.

"Reportedly the suspect fled on foot, but detectives are investigating that information, and we are working to identify and arrest the shooter at this time," Coon said shortly before 10 p.m.

Police did not release the victim's name.
