Man accused in child’s death arrested

A man was arrested Friday on a murder charge after he was accused of killing his girlfriend's child.
Las Vegas police said Cory Terrell Simmons, 35, killed his girlfriend's young child Thursday night at a home in the 6300 block of Rose Tree Lane in northeast Las Vegas.
Police did not release the age or gender of the child and did not say how the child was killed.
Simmons was booked at Clark County Detention Center on one count of murder by child abuse.
Two other children at the residence were taken by child welfare officials.
The coroner's office will release the name of the child.
