Man indicted in barroom spat, death
A 28-year-old man was indicted by a grand jury Friday in connection with a February 2010 fatal shooting in the southwest valley.
Kristopher "Lil' Insane" London faces a charge of murder with use of a deadly weapon in the death of Lionel Gentry, 26.
Gentry was found dead about 6 a.m. in a residence on Pine Mountain Street, near Decatur Boulevard and Windmill Lane.
Prosecutors allege that the two men got into an argument at a local bar, leading to fisticuffs and then to the shooting.
London is reported to have confessed his role to his mother, but when she was called to testify in Las Vegas Justice Court she didn't show up.
The case was initially dismissed in justice court because of the mother's lack of cooperation, which led to the grand jury indictment.
According to a Las Vegas police report, the two men fought in the parking lot of Ollie's Bar, in the 8000 block of Decatur Boulevard, at about 5:30 a.m. on Feb. 19, 2010.
Nearly 30 minutes later police were called to a home in the 5000 block of Pine Mountain Avenue and found Gentry shot multiple times.
The report stated that a county medical examiner removed four bullets from Gentry's body at the autopsy, but at least two were believed to be from an unrelated shooting at some time in the past.
London was arrested in California eight months after Gentry was found dead.
Judge Linda Bell ordered he be held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center.
In an unrelated drug case, London in March pleaded guilty to conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substances act. He is set to be sentenced in that case May 5.
