Officers in Manvilla shooting named

The Las Vegas Metropolitan police officers involved in the Feb. 15 shooting of Tory Manvilla were identified Friday.

Officers Juan Guzman and Michael Henry each fired one shot after Manvilla, 49, charged the officers from the bathroom at a home at 4786 Fairfax Ave., near Mountain Vista Street and Tropicana Avenue, police said.

Manvilla, who is accused of charging the officers with a knife, had locked himself in the bathroom after barging into the home, police said.

Witnesses said Manvilla seemed incoherent and was worried about a man chasing him.

Henry, 40, has been with the department since 2004. Guzman, 34, has been with the department since 2009.

Both officers were assigned to the Southeast Area Command and have been placed on routine administrative leave pending an investigation.
