Pedestrian struck on Strip identified

A man who died Saturday night after he was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross Las Vegas Boulevard was identified Monday.

Douglas Alan Reid, 59, died after he was struck by a Dodge Durango about 8:45 p.m. as he crossed Las Vegas Boulevard North just south of Mesquite Avenue.

The Durango was traveling northbound in the west lane.

Reid died at University Medical Center. The driver of the Durango was not injured.

3 accused of trafficking 45 pounds of fentanyl to Henderson

A Clark County grand jury indicted three men accused of trafficking nearly 45 pounds of fentanyl, the illicit opioid said to be many more times more powerful than morphine.
