Police identify men in murder-suicide case

A man police said was killed by his stepson Saturday morning was identified Monday by the Clark County coroner's office as Kenneth Guyer, 54, of Las Vegas.

Guyer's body was discovered in a vacant lot near Spencer Street and Pebble Road about 6:30 a.m. The coroner's office determined Guyer died from blunt-force trauma in a "motor vehicle versus pedestrian" collision.

Las Vegas police said the stepson killed Guyer and later turned a shotgun on himself while in a pickup at Bonnie Springs. Police describe the case as a murder-suicide.

The coroner's office said 27-year-old Audey Miller, Guyer's stepson, died Saturday from a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head.

Homicide Lt. Lew Roberts said Monday that the two had a tumultuous relationship. Early Saturday morning, the two had argued and Guyer told Miller to get out of the vehicle.

The argument escalated, Roberts said. Miller then ran over Guyer several times at Spencer and Pebble.

Police located Miller between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. in a pickup. As police approached, Miller shot himself, Roberts said.
