Police say they’ve nabbed ‘plaid bank robber’
A law enforcement task force has arrested a 30-year-old Las Vegas man, saying he is the so-called "plaid bank robber."
Maximilian Kvetan was arrested Tuesday morning at a Henderson home and faces federal charges in connection with three bank robberies committed last month.
Henderson police detectives followed Kvetan to a house near Hacienda Avenue and Sandhill Road on Tuesday morning. Joined by Las Vegas police detectives and FBI agents, they knocked on the door and arrested Kvetan when he answered.
Once he was in custody, Kvetan confessed to two bank robberies in Henderson and another in Las Vegas, according to Henderson police spokesman Keith Paul.
In each robbery, a man dressed in a plaid shirt handed a note demanding money to a teller. After receiving cash, he also took back the note. He didn't show a weapon, and no one was injured in any of the robberies.
Police did not disclose how much money was taken in the robberies.
Paul said Kvetan told police he wasn't involved in a July 18 robbery of the U.S. Bank branch inside a Smith's grocery store at 830 S. Boulder Highway. Police continue to investigate that robbery.
