Reno school bus driver accused of molesting girl

RENO -- A bus driver for the Washoe County School District has been charged with molesting a 14-year-old girl.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported Tuesday that 68-year-old Ronald Allen Priest was arrested Monday after police questioned him about the girl's allegations.

He remained jailed on multiple counts of sexual conduct between a school employee and minor student, sexual assault and open and gross lewdness.

At a news conference Tuesday, school police Chief Mike Mieras said Priest had worked for the district since 2007, and there were no prior allegations of misconduct against him.

Mieras said police are reviewing bus video surveillance recordings as part of their investigation.

A police affidavit said that the girl accused Priest of sexually abusing her between April and June 6.

The affidavit also said that the bus driver admitted molesting the girl.
