Silverado High School briefly on lockdown after gun brought to campus

Clark County School District police said they arrested Zechery Campbell, 49, Thursday afternoon at Silverado High School after he brought a gun onto school property.

He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on the recommended charges of loitering about school with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon on school property and resisting arrest. Campbell's first name is spelled Zachary according to county jail records.

Police said they recovered an unloaded 9 mm handgun.

Police Lt. Ken Young said Campbell, who is not a school employee, did not take the gun into the school.

The school was placed on lockdown for a short time as police investigated, but later reopened.

Police said at 11:30 a.m. they were notified that two "school-age males" were being chased by an adult with a firearm. School police then found Campbell in Silverado's parking lot. He matched the description of the man giving chase.
