Suspects sought in shooting of convenience store clerk

A convenience store clerk was shot during a robbery Monday morning, Las Vegas police said.

The shooting was reported at 6:24 a.m. at a Sinclair station at Desert Inn and Mojave roads.

Police said two men in dark clothes were robbing the store when one of the men shot the clerk, striking him once in the stomach.

The clerk was transported to a hospital. His condition is unknown.

The suspects, both Hispanic, fled into an apartment complex south of Desert Inn, police said.

Officers canvassed the area Monday morning.

Police said shooter was 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin mustache, wearing a black beanie hat, a dark sweatshirt and dark pants. He was carrying a black semi-automatic handgun.

The other suspect, who was watching the entrance of the store, was 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a white beanie hat, dark pants and a black jacket.
