Two men sentenced in Nevada mortgage scam

Joseph Yorkus, 50, and James Bartczak, 49, have been sentenced and ordered to pay restitution in connection with a Nevada mortgage scam.

Prosecutors said Yorkus set up businesses to help homeowners modify their loans, but ended up directing the money to himself.

Eighth District Court Judge Donald Mosely sentenced Yorkus to 48 months in prison and ordered him to pay nearly $350,000 in restitution. He had pleaded guilty to one count of theft.

The judge sentenced Bartczak to three years' probation and was ordered to pay $37,000 in restitution. He pleaded guilty to attempted theft in the scam.
