Updated October 16, 2024 - 5:35 pm

An argument between two men in a downtown Las Vegas apartment turned into a deadly stabbing Wednesday night, according to Las Vegas police.

About 10:15 p.m., police received a report of a stabbing on the 100 block of North 9th Street.

In the apartment, officers found 76-year-old Ulysses Grant while the victim was found in another apartment suffering from apparent stab wounds. The man died at the scene, medical responders confirmed.

Homicide detectives determined that Grant and the victim were arguing in the victim’s apartment when Grant produced a knife and stabbed the man.

Grant was detained and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for suspicion of open murder with a deadly weapon.

The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
