2 dead in west Las Vegas Valley shooting

Updated August 7, 2023 - 6:42 pm

Two people were shot dead at a party in southwest Las Vegas on Sunday night, police said.

Metro police said in a statement Monday that they responded to a report of a shooting in the 7000 block of South Buffalo Drive, south of the 215 Beltway, just after 11 p.m. on Sunday.

Officers arrived at the apartment complex to find an unresponsive woman who had been shot. She was taken to University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, police said.

At the shooting scene, officers were told by the staff at a nearby hospital of a walk-in patient who had been shot, and police determined the two shootings were related.

The victim who walked into the hospital, described by police as a male, was later pronounced dead, police said.

The identities of the victims were not released by police. The Clark County coroner’s office will release the victims’ names, police said.
