Clark County coroner IDs man who died after being shot on RTC bus
The Clark County coroner has identified the man who died after being shot Thursday evening on a public bus.
Las Vegas police said Jonathan Potter, 20, got in a fight with two adults and a teenager on a Regional Transportation Commission bus.
The trio got off the bus when it stopped near Virgil Street and East Washington Avenue about 5:40 p.m., but the teen turned back and fired a shot at Potter, who was still inside.
Potter was taken to University Medical Center, where he died less than two hours later.
Metro is still searching for the male shooter and two men.
The shooter is described as black, between 15 and 16, and about 5 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build. The two adults are described as black, between 18 and 20, and about 5 feet 9 inches tall with medium builds.
One of the men had a goatee and was last seen wearing a black beanie and black sweater. The other man had a tattoo of roses with an unknown name on the upper left side of his chest, and was last seen wearing a red sweatsuit and red tennis shoes.
This was the 161st homicide Metro has investigated in 2016.
Detectives are urging passengers who were on the bus between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. to contact investigators if they have not already been interviewed.
