North Las Vegas police arrest teenager wanted in fatal shooting

The North Las Vegas Police Department has arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a man at a North Las Vegas apartment Sunday.

Police said in a news release that 16-year-old Arnaz Jones was identified as the suspect in the fatal shooting of a man Sunday morning in an apartment near the intersection of Centennial Parkway and Pecos Road.

Officers found the man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his stomach area, police said, and he was later pronounced dead. The suspect fled the area before officers arrived.

In a statement released late Friday, the department said Jones had been located and booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of open murder.

Police extended their gratitude to the public for their assistance. No further details were available.
