Las Vegas police recovered a knife they believe was used to kill a man in the west valley Sunday night, but no arrests have been made.
Just before 8 p.m. Sunday, a man was stabbed near a McDonald’s restaurant in the 8600 block of West Spring Mountain Road, at the intersection with South Durango Drive, police said. A fight broke out between the man and two individuals who approached him before the stabbing, police said.
Police arrived to find the man lying outside the building with a stab wound in his chest. The man — who has not been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office — was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, Metro said.
According to police, the two individuals involved in the stabbing fled across Durango Drive to Desert Breeze Park.
That park was where police found the large knife they believe was used in the stabbing.
Metro spokesman Larry Hadfield confirmed that a possible suspect has been identified in the case, but he could not release any details Monday afternoon.
This death is the 49th homicide in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2016.
