Las Vegas detectives investigating after body found in house fire

Las Vegas homicide detectives are investigating Sunday after a body was found inside a northwest valley home after a house fire.

The Las Vegas Fire Department responded to a house fire near Cancun Avenue and Villa De Bravo Street at around 9 a.m., according to homicide Sgt. Jon Scott. The death appeared suspicious and homicide detectives are investigating, he said, later noting that the death could be accidental.

At the scene there were about a dozen people gathered near the home in the La Ventina neighborhood. There were multiple public safety units.

The victim has not been identified.
