Las Vegas police investigating Sunday homicide in east Las Vegas Valley

Las Vegas police are investigating a Sunday evening homicide in the eastern valley that may be the result of domestic violence.

At about 5:30 p.m., a woman was found dead with apparent head trauma in a home in the 1100 block of Colgate Lane, near Sloan Lane and Washington Avenue. Investigators found there may have been an altercation at the home between the woman and her estranged husband that led to her death.

The husband was gone when officers arrived and remains at large. The Clark County coroner’s office will release the woman’s identity and cause and manner of death when her next of kin have been notified.

This is the 102nd homicide Metro has investigated this year.

Anyone with information about the incident can contact Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 to remain anonymous.
