Man arrested in connection with fatal strip club shooting appears in court

The man who was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in June appeared in court for a preliminary hearing Friday.

Kenneth Fletcher, 31, appeared before Justice of the Peace Eric Goodman on Friday morning in Clark County Justice Court, where prosecutors presented evidence for the June 19 killing of Alxavier Woods. Fletcher is accused of shooting and killing Woods outside of Larry’s Villa, a strip club near Rancho Drive and Bonanza Road.

He was arrested June 29 on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon, the Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement.

Fletcher’s trial is set to begin Tuesday in Clark County District Court.
