Man arrested in May slaying at homeless camp in Laughlin
A man was arrested Tuesday in a previously unreported May homicide at a homeless camp in Laughlin, according to Las Vegas police.
Jail records show Aaron Justin Campbell, 46, was booked Tuesday into the Clark County Detention Center, where he faces a murder charge. He was taken into custody by Laughlin officers with the Metropolitan Police Department on the 2100 block of Casino Drive, police said.
Campbell was wanted in the May 7 death of 59-year-old Barbara Heide. Police said that Heide was found about 4:50 a.m. May 7 in a desert area on the Colorado River Heritage trail, less than a half-mile west of the river. She died of blunt force head trauma, according to police.
Further details were not immediately available.
