Man charged in fatal May shooting at Las Vegas apartment complex

Las Vegas police arrested a man in connection with a May shooting that left one person dead.

Bryant Metcalf, 28, was arrested without incident on Thursday night after police identified him as a suspect in the homicide.

On May 30, police were called to an apartment complex in the 3600 block of Cambridge Street and found a man with an apparent gunshot wound, who was later identified as 35-year-old Andre Smith. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators said several people were arguing outside an apartment in the complex before gunshots were reported and Smith was found.

Metcalf was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one charge of first-degree murder. Metcalf has been arrested several times in Clark County on charges of battery, home invasion and robbery.
