Man killed in eviction dispute in northwest Arizona

An eviction-related dispute between a landlord and a tenant triggered a deadly shooting in northwest Arizona on Wednesday, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.

Spokeswoman Trish Carter said Ralph Dahl, 52, shot and killed Carl Lee Davis, 32, on Dahl’s property in the 3900 block of West Bolsa Drive of Golden Valley, Arizona.

Carter said deputies responding during the lunch hour found Davis dead at the scene. She said it was determined that Dahl had asked Davis to move from his home and that their argument escalated when Dahl believed Davis was trying to take some of his property.

Carter said Davis was seated in a vehicle and was reaching for a knife when he was shot. She said it’ll be up to the county attorney’s office to decide if and what charges should be filed.
