Metro asking for public’s help in February homicide
August 12, 2016 - 3:13 pm
Metro is turning to the community for help finding a suspect in a February homicide on the northeast side of the valley.
Officers responding to a report of gunshots near Marion Drive and Owens Avenue on Feb. 20 found 60-year-old Heriberto Diaz-Marcial suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Detectives believe Diaz-Marcial was shot during an attempted robbery. No suspects have been identified or arrested.
Officers of the Northeast Area Command Community Policing Detail will reach out to the community and re-canvas the area on Saturday.
The Tiered Response Information Protocol will be used to find new leads in the case. Officers and volunteers will meet in the parking lot of Ann Lynch Elementary School at 4850 Kell Lane. Metro expects officers and volunteers will knock on about 500 doors in the area.
Anyone with information about the shooting can contact Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 to remain anonymous.
