Suspect faces charge in deadly stabbing near downtown Las Vegas

A 23-year-old man is facing a murder charge in connection with a deadly stabbing earlier this month near downtown Las Vegas.

On July 1 police responded to the 400 block of Mesquite Avenue, near City Parkway, after a man in his mid-30s was found stabbed to death. The man has not yet been identified.

Shelbe Rivera was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of open murder. His 48-hour hearing is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
