Two killed in overnight shooting

Metro is investigating a central valley double homicide that happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday, according to Lieutenant CJ Jenkins.

Police responded to the 2400 block of McWilliams Avenue, near Eastern and Washington avenues, after receiving reports of a shooting in front of a home.

Two men were found with multiple gunshot wounds, and transported to the University Medical Center where they later died.

Police said the two men were standing in the driveway of a home when the suspects, two other men, walked by. A verbal fight ensued and one of the suspects drew a gun and started firing.

These are the 47th and 48th homicides investigated by Metro this year.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call Metro’s homicide unit at 702-828-3521, or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 to remain anonymous.
