Woman dies after being shot in central Las Vegas

A woman died early Sunday morning after an accidental shooting in the central valley.

The woman was accidentally shot about 4:30 a.m. in the 3700 block of Cambridge Street, the Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement. She later died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

Police homicide investigators determined that the woman was in a parked car with three other people when a gun was accidentally fired inside the vehicle.

No arrests have been made. After an investigation, the Clark County district attorney will determine whether criminal charges will be filed.

This is the first homicide Metro has investigated in 2017. The Clark County coroner will release the woman’s name, once her family has been notified.
