Las Vegas police investigate body found in northeast valley

Las Vegas police are investigating after a body was found Sunday morning in northeast Las Vegas.

Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Brian Boxler said officers were called at 10:45 a.m. for reports of a woman’s body being found in a desert area near East Van Buren Avenue and Vegas Green Trail, southwest of the intersection of Lamb Boulevard and Owens Avenue.

Metro’s homicide section responded to the scene, but Boxler said Sunday afternoon that the death is not being investigated as a homicide.

No other information was available Sunday afternoon.
