2 arrested after armed robbery and pursuit in southwest Las Vegas

Las Vegas police arrested two people after an armed robbery and pursuit Wednesday morning in southwest Las Vegas.

Officers were called at about 10:15 a.m. to the 4800 block of South Rainbow Boulevard near Tropicana Avenue in response to an armed robbery, Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

As officers went to the scene, a police air unit spotted a vehicle driving recklessly that matched the description of the robbery suspects’ vehicle, Meltzer said.

Officers were directed to the vehicle’s location and a pursuit ensued, police said.

One suspected robber ditched the vehicle and tried to run away, but was taken into custody. The other was taken into custody at the vehicle near Spring Valley Parkway and Rainbow Boulevard, Meltzer said.

No charges have been filed.
